Magic: The Gathering - Secrets of Strixhaven Prerelease Event - Friday, April 17th

The five colleges are back, each with their own unique look, feel, and magic focus. As you increase your skills, make academic discoveries and work to prove your college is the best, but beware—second-year knowledge comes with a side of increased danger! Prerelease Events are your first chance to play with the cards from a brand-new set! For the whole week before a new set is released, WPN Stores can host Prerelease Events where you'll be able to crack open some packs, build a deck, and try out all the exciting new cards and mechanics in a friendly, informal tournament.

The Entry Fee to a Magic: The Gathering Prerelease Event includes a "Prerelease Pack", which you'll receive at the start of the event and contains everything you'll need to take part!

For Secrets of Strixhaven, Prerelease Packs come in five different versions (one for each of the five colleges: Silverquill, Prismari, Lorehold, Quandrix, and Witherbloom!), which will be randomly assigned on the day of the event. Players will then be given the option to trade their sealed prerelease packs with each other before the event begins! Each Secrets of Strixhaven Prerelease Pack contains;

• 1 x Secrets of Strixhaven Seeded Booster (14-card college-aligned booster)
• 5 x Secrets of Strixhaven Play Boosters
• 1 x Traditional Foil Rare or Mythic Rare
• 1 x Oversized Spindown life counter

Event Structure

• 3-Round Swiss Tournament
• 50-minute Deck Building Phase
• Best-of-Three Matches
• 50-minute Rounds

A 50-minute deck building phase will begin shortly after registration has been completed (at approximately 6:30pm), and will be followed by 3 rounds of best-of-three swiss-paired matches! Prizes will be awarded at the end of the event based on placement, but nobody leaves empty-handed:

All players will receive a minimum of 1 additional Secrets of Strixhaven Play Booster just for taking part, with even more prize packs being awarded to the Tournament's top contenders!

Terms & Conditions

Full payment of the Entry Fee is required in advance in order to secure your place at the event. Event Entry Fee payments that include retail products as part of the purchase are refundable (less a £0.50 processing fee) where customer cancellation occurs at least 5 days before the event is due to take place. Any cancellations after this time will only be subject to a refund if we can fill your space with another paying customer. If we cannot, you will still be entitled to the goods purchased as part of the event.
